About Us

About Us

The founder member of the Annual car show was Mr. Norman Pratt. The car show first started in 1985 in a small yard in Loman Street Trim with just 23 cars. Determined to expand the show Mr. Pratt approached the Roundtree family who kindly gave us the Porch Fields which has been used for all the shows to date. the annual event has grown each year and now we have excess of 500 cars, motor cycles and commercials on show. It has become a renowned family day out with a lot of different side shows to keep everyone happy from the young to the old. It has become such a great day that the only thing that could spoil it would be the weather.
We have had everything from The Slieve le Mon Armoured Car from the Civil War to the Presidential Rolls Royce. We have had great support from Northern Ireland and the northern visitors enlighten a lot of us greatly with their range of cars. We have also had the Morgan Club of Great Britain over to visit. We receive numerous entries but never know until the day what is going to turn up. In 2015 we held our 30th Annual Vintage & Veteran Car Show in the Porch Fields Trim. Over the years this show has become one of the largest vintage car gatherings in the country, with exhibitors from all over the 32 counties. To have a successful, enjoyable and safe day out for all who attend it takes an enormous amount of dedication from a lot of people. We need at least 35 stewards on the day of the show to run a smooth and safe venue for exhibitors and visitors alike. The committee has found it hard at times to stage the event but has always found a way to make it happen on the day. Up to 2 years ago the committee was comprised mainly of members who did not own a classic or vintage vehicle but who had the interest and enthusiasm to run a showcase for people to exhibit their pride and joy. With the recession getting hold it looked as if the show would not happen in 2012. But by chance in 2011 a group of local classic car owners formed the TCCOC (Trim Classic Car Owners Club). In 2012 when it became apparent that the July date for the show was not about to be met that year the newly formed club offered their help and in just 6 weeks a new joint committee set about getting an event to take place in September. After a hectic few weeks the Show went ahead and proved to be a success. The new committee members being classic car owners themselves had invaluable contacts with other clubs all over the country and sent out a plea for help. They had achieved their objectives and had kept the interest alive and were able to hold the 2013 event back in its normal July slot. In 2016 we again lost our July Show date due to the Council double booking the venue but the show must go on and we held the event in September. 2017 our show was the biggest and most successful for years, roll on 2018.
